Where do you normally shoot?

Basically if it's secluded, abandoned, and off the road somewhere I'm in. However, I am also a fan of murals + cityscapes. If we can make art with it, let's shoot there!

Do you use artificial lights and backdrops?

I have them, but I love, love, love natural light. Natural light is one of the beauties of lifestyle photography. I do have an light stands for low-light areas if needed.

When do I pay you?

I require a 50% non-refundable deposit when you sign the contract. This ensures that you get the date and time that you want and that nobody else will get it. Dates are limited, so the longer you wait the more likely that date and time will fill up. The 2nd portion of the deposit is due no later than a week before the session. Photos will not be delivered until all payments have been made.

What forms of payment do you take?

Check, cashier's check, cash, and Venmo.

What should I wear?

I cannot stress this enough: be comfortable. Maybe it's a good idea to leave the footie pajamas at home, but wear something that reflects who you are. Discomfort shows in front of the camera. If you need ideas, I have a Pinterest board set up with ideas for clothing options that I would be happy to share with you.

What should I bring?

The beauty of lifestyle photography is that it's intended to be natural and capture the essence of who you are in a non-stressful form. Just bring you (and possibly your honey or honeys if there is more than one in the shoot) + relax. Let's have fun + get creative! The less, the better. When there's an entourage of people, you lose the intimacy of the moment.

Should I bring a shot list of poses that we want?

Inspiration is always nice. It gives me an idea of where you want the shoot to go. I do encourage you to be open to new ideas. The beauty of lifestyle photography is that it's natural and artistic. Just enjoy the moment, be yourself, + let the rest come together.

How long does it take to get my photos back?

Typically it can take up to anywhere from 3-4 weeks for a portrait session + about 10 weeks to get your wedding photos back. If I chose to blog your session, it could take 2-3 weeks to get up a blog post. I usually get at least one photo from your session on my Stella + G Facebook page within a day or two from the shoot.

Can I have the photos unedited?

Like any artist, I would never give my work away without it reaching completion. Why have the rough draft when you could have the final product?

Do I have to chose my prints? Do I have to buy prints from you?

No, if they turn out well, you get them. I will send you your photos via digital gallery + printing is up to you! I do have a lab that I print from + they are EXCEPTIONAL! You will not be disappointed.

What type of photography do you offer?

I pretty much do everything except weddings. I am a full time teacher and wedding photography was really hard to balance with teaching during the week. I pretty much do everything else: engagement, maternity, family, lifestyle, in-home infant, artistic, bridal, senior, anniversary, therapeutic, + small event photography.

What is therapeutic photography?

Therapeutic photography is FREAKING AWESOME. I didn't realize how much healing photography could be until recently. My husband + I lost our first baby last year. We found out the pregnancy wasn't viable on our one year anniversary + lost our sweet Arden soon after. I had TERRIBLE body image. I felt like there was something wrong with my body since the miscarriage. I reached out to friend + fellow photographer 8 months after + shared my idea with her. SHE LOVED IT. During the shoot, I felt a sense of freedom I hadn't felt in a long time. When I got my photos back, I felt a sense of relief and closure. It's a great way to share your story + heal!
